The brain of the outfit is clearly Octavius. Players can acquire items such as helmets in this manner. They can also salvage the clothing of those he's killed. It appears that players will have a considerable amount of control of their horse and carriage as it races along the arena floors.

It's a bit sick, really, but it's also strangely satisfying. It's even possible to cut entire bodies in half. Limbs are cut from soldiers and blood particles fly in every direction. Sword swipes cut heads clean off bodies and blood pours out of wounds with such a force that it almost resembles a broken fire hydrant of splatter. The battles are shockingly violent and filled with gore. The publisher has certainly not toned down the sheer brutality of these intense fights. Capcom promises that Agrippa will also be able to fight with a wide variety of animals like tigers - a fact that is sure to please Gladiator fans. Some are hulking men-beasts that tower over the powerful figure. Many of them are other gladiators and similar in build and size. The character goes up against a wide variety of enemies in these fights. In some cases, foes will carry shields and will only be vulnerable for a split second of attack. Players will have to determine the weak points of enemies. There is some strategy to these fights, too. There will also be points when the character will have no items whatsoever at his disposal during these unfortunate occasions he'll be forced to fight with his bare hands. He must fight for his life using a variety of different weapons including unique swords, spears and slingshots, to name just a few. Players maneuver him into battle in realistic arenas filled with hulking enemies. The action is split up into what Capcom refers to as "brawns versus brains." Naturally, Agrippa has the brawn covered. Gamers will need to assume the roles of both heroes, switching back and forth, as the title unfolds. And as the short, comparatively weak Octavius, gamers must travel through the hallways of the city using stealth in search of evidence that will clear Agrippa's father of his accused crime once and for all.
